Sonia Kashuk has released a limited edition version of her Eye Couture Palette called Jewel of an Eye, which includes both neutral and colorful, festive eye shadow shades for a total of 12 eye shadows.
Note: The palette is currently on sale through Target online for $16.99!
The Eye Couture Palette is flat, thin, and rectangular. It has a flip-up lid that stays closed via a magnet. The top is clear so that you can see the eye shadows inside.
This palette contains 6 festive shades (dusty light pink, dusty soft purple, grape purple, forest green, teal-green, navy blue) and 6 neutral shades (burnt brown, brick red brown, maroon-brown, vintage gold, golden brown, brown).
All of the shades have good pigmentation and most of them have a soft formula that glides easily over the skin. But a handful of the shades don’t have a soft formula and skip over the skin unevenly: the last brown shade, the light purple, and the navy blue.
Overall, I think this is a good, holiday-appropriate palette, but I wish the formula across all the shades were consistent. I also wish there were a few matte shades thrown in.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
The buttery shades transfer and blend easily. The 3 drier shades take more pressure and layering to get a smooth finish.
For under $20 you get 12 shades for a total of 0.34 ounces (9.6 grams) of shadow. This is a very generous serving of product for the price point.
