theBalm’s long-wearing, STAINING powder blush is a fashion must have! With six shades, perfect for all seasons and skin tones, it will give your cheeks color that won’t quit.
TheBlam’s newest cheek product is its Instain long-wearing blushes. These “staining” blushes come in six (6) different shades. This review is for the shade Pinstripe–a deep plum shade.
This blush comes in sturdy, cardboard packaging. The compact flips open and stays closed via a magnet. Inside you’ll find a mirror. The compact also slides out of a paper sleeve.
At first, I thought Pinstripe would be too dark of a color for my light skin. In the pan, it’s a deep plum shade with tiny, subtle gold shimmers. Applied lightly on the skin, though, it’s entirely wearable, even for people with light skin. It’s more pink once applied, and the golden shimmer particles aren’t perceptible. It goes without saying that this blush is extremely pigmented.
The formula is neither creamy nor stiff. It blends smoothly out over the skin without being overly dusty or crumbly.
I don’t know about theBalm’s “staining” claim (which can only really be tested if you apply this directly to the skin, without moisturizer, sunscreen, or makeup underneath), but I do know that this color stays strong all day without having problems with fading or becoming patchy.
Ease of Use: 9.75/10
Other than needing to use a light hand to avoid looking clown-ish, application of this smooth blush is easy. The powder blends smoothly over the skin.
