Wet n Wild’s Fergie Holiday 2013 collection is newly available at your local drugstore and includes a 6-pan Glitter Palette called Getting Flashed.
This palette comes in a plastic compact with a clear, flip-up top that snaps shut. The palette is lightweight and good for traveling with.
This palette includes 6 glittery shades: frosty white, magenta, silver, orchid, steel, purple, black, and blue. All of the shades have either a frosty finish or noticeable glitter particles in them.
These shades definitely don’t have the color you see in the pan, with the exception of the white shade when layered. Most of the colors give off weak pigmentation, and some (like the steel and purple) give off virtually no underlying color, just glitter.
The first ingredient for these shadows is petrolatum, which gives them a Vaseline texture. They look oily on the lids and crease almost immediately. I’ve tested these on both primer by themselves and over powder eye shadows. They will make any powder applied underneath bunch up and crease too.
The glitter particles on many of the shades are also pretty large. I’d definitely be careful to not get these into the eyes, which could result in scratching.
Ease of Use: 7/10
The only way to use these over a base color is to dab them on. Blending or swiping them onto the lid will lift any underlying color you’ve applied. Even applied alone, you can’t really blend them because of the texture. No amount of primer will make these last during the day without creasing.
For $5.00 you get 0.3 ounces (8.5 grams) of product.
