Wet n Wild has just released a new line of products in its Fergie CenterStage Collection. The collection includes four (4) Photo Op eye shadow palettes that each contain five (5) colors. This review is for the palette in Dutchess Lounge.
This face powder comes in a rounded square compact with a snap-shut, clear, flip-up lid.
The upper left shade is a highly metallic silver with great pigmentation and a strong sheen. The formula is smooth and glides over the skin.
The upper right shade is a deep purple with tiny purple shimmer particles. This shade has good pigmentation and applies smoothly but the shimmer particles aren’t prominent on the skin.
The bottom left shadow is a deep, almost-black, violet shade. The formula is noticeably more stiff than with the other shades, which results in patchy application. You’ll want to apply multiple layers to get a smoother finish.
The bottom right shadow is a charcoal color with a prominent showing of silver shimmer particles. The color is opaque and applies smoothly.
The middle shadow is a matte, grape purple that applies in a transparent layer.
In addition to the problematic formula for the bottom left shade, I feel like this palette doesn’t have enough variety. Three of the colors are nearly black. I would have liked to see more distinctly purple shades.
Ease of Use: 8.25/10
The upper left, upper right, and bottom right shades apply smoothly without needing layering. But the bottom left and middle shadows definitely need layering to build up and smooth out the pigmentation.
For just $5.00 you get five eye shadows for a total of 0.19 ounces (5.5 grams) of product.
