An SPF of 60 + plus an ultra-high PFA prevent lip darkening, burning, fine lines, and sun-related blisters. Ultra-rich lubricators soothe, and repair even very chapped lips from sun, heat, wind or cold.
This review is for VMV Hypoallergenic’s Armada Moisturising Protective Lip Balm 60+–a lip balm with an SPF 60 to protect and moisturize the lips.
The Armada Moisturising Protective Lip Balm 60+ looks a lot like petroleum jelly in the tube and when you first squeeze the product out of the tube. It seems this way not only because of the soft yellow color but because you also need a good amount of pressure on the tube to get the product to come out through the slanted applicator. So, at first, I was worried that this lip balm would be heavy the way petroleum jelly (aka Vaseline) is.
But, actually, this formula (which does contain petrolatum) is thinner and doesn’t feel heavy on the lips, though it is definitely thicker than your typical lip balm. There’s no sticky texture or greasy feel. The formula goes on clear and has no scent. This is the type of balm that coats the lips (as opposed to sinking into the skin), which means that it’s a great barrier for lips, but if the balm comes off from eating or drinking, you’ll need to re-apply the product to get its skin benefits.
Most importantly, this lip balm provides a high SPF rating with an active ingredient that provides full-spectrum sun protection. People who use sunscreen on their face often forget that their lips need just as much sun protection. Using this lip balm regularly will ensure that your lips are protected.
