Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm offers velvety color with balm-like moisture. Infused with a Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut Butter. This retractable chubby crayon requires no sharpener.
Revlon’s new Matte Balms have been added to the ColorBurst line and come in 10 different shades. This review will be for shade #205 Elusive, which is a bright, yellow-based French rose pink.
If you would like to see photographs and swatches of all 10 matte shades, please see this post.
The Matte Balms come in jumbo pencil form with bases that twist to reveal more product. The packaging is made of matte plastic in the color of the balm inside. The balms twist so that you don’t need to sharpen them.
Elusive is an entirely matte, bright, yellow-based pink shade. Applied regularly, you get full-coverage, opaque color on the lips.
The texture for this matte balm is slightly powdery and those with dry lips will find they need to apply a balm or gloss on top. But as far as matte lip products go, this one isn’t actively drying on the lips. The balm has a light peppermint scent without making the lips tingle.
The color has great lasting power. Even after 4 hours of wear, coffee drinking, and snacking, Elusive still tints the lips a soft pink shade. If you stay away from food and drink or keep a clear gloss applied on top of this balm, the color will last you a good 5-6 hours and will still leave a light stain behind on the lips.
Ease of Use: 9.75/10
The pencil form allows you to draw onto the lips easily and fairly precisely. If you want a lighter touch of color, dab the pencil and press your lips together, or press your lips on a paper towel to remove some of the color.
