With the first big snowfall of the season comes the delightful scent of balsam and fir tress, layered with notes of fresh eucalyptus.
This review is for one of Bath & Body Works’s Holiday Traditions in the scent Fresh Balsam.
This candle comes in a large, cylindrical, clear jar made of glass. The wax inside is a green tea color and contains 3 wicks. The image on the front of the candle is of a boy dragging along a Christmas tree in the snow.
I got this candle back in December, and it was part of Bath & Body Works’s Holiday Traditions line. Bath & Body Works doesn’t have this particular version of Fresh Balsam anymore, but they do have their regular Fresh Balsam scent which, from the description, looks like it’s very similar to the holiday Fresh Balsam but maybe a little sweeter.
In any case, I’m kind of glad I didn’t start burning this candle until recently. It smells very woody and earthy–strongly of balsam fir accented by crisp eucalyptus. It fills up a room with the scent and reminds me of the holidays. Even though it’s February, it’s much colder now (at least where I live) than it was in December. And now that the Christmas tree has been thrown out, it’s really nice to have the scent of the holidays still lingering around the home.
If you love that Christmas-tree smell, I think you’ll like Fresh Balsam.
