Company’s Description

For fabulously radiant and healthy looking skin, try No7 Skin Illuminator. Containing tiny iridescent particles that shimmer in the light, it is perfect for providing a wonderfully warm glow. Apply across the upper cheekbones, bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow for the lips to frame the face for a radiance boost.

This review is for Boots No. 7′s Skin Illuminator, which is a liquid illuminator for the face. This product comes in two different shades–Pink and Peach. This review is for the shade Peach.

Sephora.com, Inc.

Packaging: 7/10

This illuminator comes in a flat, clear squeeze tube made of plastic and has a flat brush directly connected to the tube. The tube comes with a cap. This packaging is inconvenient, messy, and the cap does not stay on the tube very well.

Quality: 8.75/10

Peach is actually an extremely pale nude-gold shade. It’s nearly colorless once blended in and is mostly just pearlized illuminating particles.

The formula is a very thin cream that’s not thin enough to be a liquid. It blends out easily.

Although Boots suggests you put this on the tops of the cheeks, down the bridge of the nose, and on the cupid’s bow, I think this product is not really a highlighter, but more of an illuminator. It would work nicely mixed with your foundation for a natural luminescence. When applied to the face where you would normally apply highlighter, this product is a little too subtle. But if you’re going for a natural glow, this could work as your highlighter.

Ease of Use: 8.5/10

The product itself is easy to use because it’s natural and blends out well. But the packaging for this illuminator is impractical. The brush allows way too much product to come out of the tube and isn’t good for blending on the skin. I end up splitting the brush so that I can get the product straight from the tube with another brush.

Price: 9.5/10

For around $8.99 you get 1 fl oz (30 ml) of product. This is twice the amount you typically get with lower than twice the price.
