A featherweight foundation with light to medium coverage and SPF 30 protection. Weightless and skin-nourishing, this foundation is clinically proven to increase hydration and brighten and smooth skin while softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Formulated with vitamin C, tamarind seed, and marine algae extracts, its versatile coverage lasts for up to eight hours. Water encapsulation technology enables a refreshingly soft finish.
This review is for Buxom’s brand new Show Some Skin Weightless Foundation, which comes in 10 shades and is said to be lightweight, brightening, and smoothing. The shade tested and depicted in this review is Dim The Light–a warm yellow for light skin tones.
This foundation comes in a plastic squeeze tube with a twist-off cap. The packaging is partially clear, so keep it away from sunlight so that the ingredients inside don’t deteriorate.
Dim The Light is a perfect match for my NC20 skin. If you’re light-skinned with yellow undertones or slight warm undertones, this foundation will probably be a good match for you.
True to it’s name, this foundation feels weightless on the skin. It has a liquid/cream formula that’s thin while still giving you coverage. You’ll get light coverage that can be built up to medium coverage. The foundation leaves a dewy finish, which will look wonderful if you have dry or normal skin. If you have combination or oily skin, setting this foundation even with a light layer of powder will allow you to lessen any shine without covering up the foundation’s natural looking finish. I first tested this foundation without setting it, and my skin became too shiny later in the day for my taste. But using just a little powder gave me a lovely finish on the skin that maintained through the day without having to re-powder.
As a bonus, this foundation provides effective sun protection with an SPF of 30. But you’d never know by the weightless formula that it has sunscreen in it!
Ease of Use: 10/10
I find this foundation extremely easy to use because its thin formula spreads quickly over the skin and blends seamlessly. I apply this with a flat kabuki brush.
For $34.00 you get 1.5 ounces of product. This is 50% more than you’d typically get in a foundation, without the 50% price increase.
