Company’s Description

Shampoo: Gently cleanses and restores your natural moisture without adding weight to your hair. The blend of Aloe Leaf Juice and Sweet Clover Extract hydrates your hair so it’s more soft and manageable with a lot more natural shine. Perfect for normal-to-dry hair types that no longer want to be dull and dehydrated.

Conditioner: A rich, moisturizing recipe for dry, brittle and unmanageable hair to detangle and make it easier to style. The blend of Pro-vitamin B5 and Rose Extract help to strengthen and soften hair when it’s wet so there are fewer snags, snaps and tugs. Light enough to use daily and perfect as a co-wash.

Carol’s Daughter’s Black Vanilla line is a moisturizing haircare line that smells of warm and sensual black vanilla. Keep reading to hear my thoughts on the Black Vanilla shampoo and conditioner!

Both the shampoo and conditioner come in plastic bottles with caps the flip open. The bottles are clear so you’ll be able to see how much product is left inside.

The Black Vanilla line smells incredible. It’s warm and inviting, with scents of sugar and vanilla, mixed in with other cozy fragrances. The scent isn’t overpowering or sickly-sweet. The scent will linger in your hair for the day after you’ve showered. Again, it’s not so strong that it will offend your elevator-mates, but is strong enough to leave a light but noticeable layer of warm, comforting fragrance.

The shampoo is sulfate-free and doesn’t create a lot of lather. It leaves behind a thin coating on the strands which, after you’ve rinsed and dried your hair, you’ll notice keeps your locks moisturized. If you have an oily scalp, you’ll want to use a clarifying shampoo instead–this one will bring too much moisture.

The conditioner has a slightly different scent to it, but you can definitely tell it’s in the same Black Vanilla family. It’s hard to describe, but it has almost a hint of jellybean smell to it. The formula is also somewhat gel-like. It rinses out cleanly while still bringing moisture to the strands.

Overall, I think this is one of my favorite shampoo and conditioner duos. The Black Vanilla scent is wonderful, and the formula for this duo helps keep normal-to-dry strands moisturized.
