em Cosmetics is a new makeup line created by Michelle Phan. The line includes 8 shades of The Great Cover Up, which is a cream concealer. This review depicts the shade Light Warm.
This concealer comes in a squeeze tube made of opaque, white plastic that has a reflective silver, twist-off cap and a slanted applicator.
Light Warm is distinctly warm-toned and is a good match for NC 20/25 skin. When I’m at my palest (on the NC 20 scale), this color is a *tad* dark for my skin, but you can still get away with using it.
The concealer has a very creamy consistency that isn’t heavy, thick, or greasy. The concealer thins out pretty easily, and blends into the skin in a fairly natural way, leaving a satin finish. The coverage is substantial, but it’s not quite full coverage. It will work to cover up most imperfections, save only the most severe under-eye darkness, acne scarring, etc.
The concealer also wears well throughout the day, although it can settle into any creases you have under the eyes.
Overall, I think this is a good, pleasant-to-wear cream concealer that gives you great coverage.
Ease of Use: 9/10
Though cream concealers can sometimes be thick and difficult to manage, The Great Cover Up has a formula that’s pretty easy to blend into the skin. You don’t need to set it either, unless you have oily skin.
For $17.00 you get 0.3 fl oz (9 ml) of product. This is a fair amount of product for the price.
