Packaging: 8.75/10

This palette comes in a rectangular palette made of heavy cardboard with a tortoise shell design on the cover. The palette stays together via a magnet, includes a full-sized mirror inside, as well as a dual-ended brush/applicator. The 5 nude shades are placed separately from the 3 metallic shades. The lining inside of my palette was already coming apart when I first opened this palette, so there is some quality to be desired with the packaging.

Quality: 9/10

The 5 nude shades all have a satin/matte finish and come in the following colors: a nude-cream, a nude-beige-pink, a neutral nude, a light brow, and a medium soft brown. The nude shades have a chalky texture to them, which made me worry that they would not perform well when I initially swatched them. And, while they do give you a sheerer wash of color, the consistency of the shadow is actually extremely pleasant to work with because it blends effortlessly. You won’t be creating any intense looks with these shades, but they work wonderfully for any skin color for a neutral eye.

The 3 metallic shades have a low-intensity metallic finish to them and come in the following shades: a shimmering off-white, a shimmering bronze, and a shimmering deep plum. These are the shades you’ll utilize to add intensity to the 5 nude shades. Though these 3 shadows have a formula that is a little more dry than normal, they have great pigmentation and strong finishes that can be sheered out or made opaque, according to what you desire.

Ease of Use: 9.5/10

The 5 nude shades apply effortlessly, blending out smoothly and making application almost fool-proof. The 3 metallic shades can be applied lightly for a sheer wash of metallic sheen, or applied at regular strength to get an intense finish with a pop of metallic shine.

Price: 8.75/10

    Great review and swatches Allura.

  2. Lauren says:

I’ve always seen EL as a “mature” brand… Maybe because my grandmother always wore their lipsticks/foundations/etc. Even releases like these seem geared towards an older audience, no?

    • Allura says:

I also remember my grandmother with Estee Lauder products–the brand has been around for a long time. But I actually think they’ve gotten a younger look in the past few years. This collection doesn’t make me think “mature.”
