Garnier’s Skin Renew 5 Second Blur Instant Smoother is a new generation product. It’s designed to instantly blur the visible signs of aging including: wrinkles, fine lines, flaws and visible pores. In just 5 seconds, skin feels smoother, looks younger and is more radiant.
This review is for Garnier’s new Skin Renew 5 Second Blur Instant Smoother, which is advertised to instantly blur signs of aging, including pores and fine lines.
Garnier’s Skin Renew 5 Second Blur Instant Smoother comes in a light pink, opaque, plastic tube with a twist-off cap.
The Instant Smoother has a light-weight gel/mousse consistency with a silicone feel. Out of the tube, the product is a very pale pink, but goes onto the skin in an invisible layer.
This product is said to instantly blur signs of aging, including fine lines, wrinkles, flaws, and pores. I did not see this product do any of these things. There was a slight, temporary mattifying effect, but the pores on the side of my face where this was applied did not look any less visible than the pores on the side of my face that did not have this applied. And the mattifying effect I got did not last more than a couple of hours: my skin produced oil the way it typically does without a mattifying product applied. I also did not see any “radiant” effect from using this product.
I tested this product as a primer for my foundation too, but it didn’t function to prolong the wear of my foundations.
Overall, I think this product has a slight, temporary mattifying effect, and a very slight smoothing effect, but doesn’t do much beyond that.
