Kevyn Aucoin’s Pure Powder Glow is a powder blush that is available in 8 shades and is said to give a sheer layer of seamless color. This review is for the shade Neolita, which is a berry red.
Although not shown here (my blush is a refill), this blush traditionally comes in a deep red and black rectangular compact that snaps shut and contains a full-sized mirror in the lid.
Neolita is a berry red wine shade with tiny gold shimmer that leaves a subtle sheen finish. This blush is wonderfully pigmented: it’s strong enough to quickly give the skin strong color, but the level of pigmentation stays just sheer enough to not look overpowering or clown-like. Neolita would work with many skin colors, but would look particularly beautiful on deep skin.
This powder also has the perfect formula. It’s just loose enough to spread smoothly over the skin and blend evenly, but isn’t so loose that the blush is dusty or chalky.
The color stays true throughout the entire day without needing re-touching.
Ease of Use: 9.75/10
This powder blends over the skin smoothly and imparts pigment quickly. I’d suggest deliberately working in thin layers and building up the color gradually since Neolita is such a rich color.
