The ultimate sophistication for the most perfect lips ever. Colour Riche Extraordinaire contains five precious micro-oils to create the perfect lip result in one luxuriously comfortable step: resurfaces and smooths lips like a balm, provides colour impact of a lipstick, and gives a varnished 3-d shine effect of a gloss. The unique applicator is soft to the touch and designed for the most precise application to the lips every time. The new vision of lipcolor.
L’Oreal’s new Colour Riche Extraordinary Lip Colors are said to smooth the lips and provide bold color and shine. These glosses are available in 16 shades. This review is for the shade Rouge Allegro–a bright cherry red.
This gloss comes in a short tube made of reflective gold plastic. There is a window on the side of the tube that shows you the gloss inside. The gloss comes with a small, doe-footed applicator that is slanted at the end.
Rouge Allegro is a bright, bold, cherry red in the tube. But, because the gloss has a semi-translucent quality to it, Rouge Allegro looks closer to a bright strawberry red once it’s applied to the lips. This gloss has a juicy, glossy finish and–true to L’Oreal’s claims–smooths the surface of the lips.
The formula is thin and gel-like. It doesn’t “set” or sink into the skin like some stains do. Instead, it acts more like a gloss in that the formula sits on top of the lips. That said, the pigment does seep into the skin so that once the gloss sitting on top of your lips wears off, you still get a strong stain of color. The stain is long-wearing, leaving remnants of this bold color even after the 6-hour mark.
My only criticism of the Extraordinary Lip Color is the fragrance added to it. It’s a sweet scent that’s noticeable during application. Thankfully, I didn’t notice it after application, but it is pretty strong out of the tube.
Ease of Use: 9.75/10
The doe-footed applicator makes application quick and simple. You can wear this gloss as a sheer wash or built up to be almost opaque. You can even apply it, then remove the gloss to leave behind just the stain of color.
For $10.00 you get 0.18 fl. oz. (5.5 ml) of product. This is noticeably less product compared to what you get in most drugstore lip glosses.
