This review is for the limited edition Bloody Brilliant Eye Shadow Quad releasing with MAC’s Osbournes Collection for Summer 2014. This post includes photographs and swatches of the following eye shadow colors:
- Tickety Boo: Soft muted plum brown (Satin)
- Fizzy Rose: Pale lilac (Satin)
- Spoonful of Sugar: Sparkling platinum (Veluxe Pearl)
- Shadowy Lady: Blackened plum (Matte)
Spoonful of Sugar is a pale, silvered-grey with a shimmering, frosty finish. This shade applies fairly smoothly.
Tickety Boo is a dusty, muted lavender-plum shade with a sheen finish. This shade needs a little more pressure and layering to get an even layer of color.
Fizzy Rose is a light lilac with a sheen finish. Like with Tickety Boo, this shade needs a little more pressure and layering to get an even layer of color.
Shadowy Lady is a very deep plum with a matte finish. MAC’s Matte formula shadows are usually stiff and skip on the the skin. Shadowy Lady is no exception. It will give you great, opaque color, but you have to layer it and blend it before it will.
This is a pretty good quad, overall, but it would be better if it included softer, creamier shades.
