A 77-Mineral Moist Complex that instantly nourishes lips with maximum moisture in a lightweight, non-sticky formula. Larger bullet applies bright, long lasting colour in a single stroke. Medium shine finish, buildable coverage. Magnetic closure.
This review is for the 6 new Mineralize Rich Lipsticks releasing with MAC’s Mineralize Glass Collection. The following 6 shades are depicted and reviewed:
- Pure Pout: midtone cool beige
- Be Fabulous: washed out pastel pink
- Be A Lady: midtone coral
- Good Taste: fuchsia pink
- Bold Spring: deep blue pink
- So Good: deep magenta
These new Mineralize Rich Lipsticks come in pinched tubes that are larger than MAC’s traditional lipsticks. These are also different because they have a magnetic closure.
Pure Pout is a neutral-toned nude with a hint of pink running through it. This is a very wearable nude.
Be Fabulous is a very yellow-based, light pink. Of all the shades, this one runs the biggest risk of emphasizing your lip lines or making it look like you have dry patches on the lips. This is due to the light color, the powdery quality of the color, and the fact that it’s semi-translucent.
Be A Lady is a pinky coral.
Good Taste is a ruby-pink with a close-to opaque finish.
Bold Spring is a fuchsia with a small amount of translucence.
So Good is a pinky-red with a glossy quality while also being nearly opaque.
All of these shades have good, glossy color. The brighter shades (all but Pure Pout and Be Fabulous) will also leave a translucent stain on your lips. The lipsticks themselves last 2-3 hours depending on how much you are eating/drinking/talking.
As for the new Mineralize Rich formula–it’s wonderful. These lipsticks are extremely comfortable to wear. They have a balmy quality, no stickiness or heaviness, and are very emollient. If you’re looking for something that feels like a balm but wears for longer while giving you the color of a lipstick and the finish of a gloss, this is the lipstick for you.
As for price, while MAC’s traditional lipsticks cost $15.00 and contain 0.1 ounces (3 grams) of product, the Mineralize Rich lipsticks cost $7.00 more and contain 0.12 ounces (3.6 grams) of product. This is significantly more money per ounce of product.
