Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.
This review is for the 6 new, limited-edition Lipsticks releasing with MAC’s Playland Collection. This post includes photographs and swatches of the following colors:
- Playland: Frosted yellow gold (Frost)
- Sweet Experience: Bright pink (Amplified)
- Happy-Go-Lucky: Hot pink (Amplified)
- Toying Around: Hot coral pink (Amplified)
- Red Balloon: Hot fuchsia (Amplified)
- Head in the Clouds: Red with pearl (Frost)
Playland is a shimmering yellow-gold that consists more of shimmer than of underlying color. I find this lipstick to be very unflattering and impractical to wear, even when applied sheerly.
Sweet Experience is a light, yellow-based pink with semi-opaque color. The color is a little powdery in finish and can emphasize lip lines if you have any dry patches.
Happy-Go-Lucky is a bright magenta color with an opaque, glossy finish with no shimmer.
Toying Around is a bright coral with opaque color and a slightly glossy finish with no shimmer.
Red Balloon is a bright fuchsia pink with opaque color and a slightly glossy finish with no shimmer.
Head in the Clouds is a warm-toned red with tons of small gold shimmer that has a glossy finish. You can feel the small shimmer particles if you rub your lips together, but they’re otherwise not noticeable.
I like all of the shades except Playland, although I don’t feel that any of the colors are new or that unique.
These lipsticks are now a dollar more expensive, at $16.00 each.
