Dramatic Depth. Unstoppable Character. Modern lipstick so shamelessly seductive in touch and texture the sensation is audacious. Unadulterated luxury glides on like satin across skin with single-stroke coverage. A spectrum of 40 shades for unstoppable impact.
NARS’s new Audacious Lipsticks are said to provide one-stroke full coverage, smooth texture, and a long-lasting formula. This new lipstick formula is a available in 40 different shades. This review is for the shade Grace–a bright pink coral.
Each Audacious Lipstick comes in a rectangular, black tube made of matte metal. The lipstick cap closes via a magnet. Each lipstick bullet is stamped with the NARS logo.
Grace is described by NARS as a pink coral, but I think the shade is much more interesting than that. It’s actually a pretty deep coral and has a strong orange tone that’s tempered by pink. The shade itself is matte but the finish is just a tad creamy.
The NARS Audacious Lipstick formula is superb. The lipstick is creamy, moisturizing, and smooth. The formula is very pleasant to wear. The pigmentation is opaque. The NARS Audacious Lipstick formula reminds me a lot of IMAN’s Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick formula, but Grace is nowhere near as glossy.
This lipstick is also long-wearing, despite the fact that it is not transfer-resistant. It lasts 4-5 hours on my lips, even with light drinking and eating. And Grace leaves a noticeable stain behind on your lips.
Ease of Use: 9.75/10
The Audacious Lipstick formula glides across the lips in an opaque layer of color without skipping or tugging. With most of the shades, you could literally swipe in one direction and get a smooth, opaque layer of color.
For $32.00 you get 0.14 ounces (4.2 grams) of product. Event though this appears to be an expensive lipstick, you are actually paying less per ounce compared to lipsticks like Marc Jacobs’s Lovemarc Lip Gels, Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick, and Hourglass’s Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick.
