Invincibly smooth color & shine with Rimmel’s Show Off Lip Lacquer. For the first time, the intense, richer color of a lipstick is enhanced by a smooth satin shine.
Rimmel’s new Show Off Lip Lacquers are available in 14 shades and are said to be intensely colored, high-shine lip glosses. This review is for the shades Stellar, Apocaliptic, and Big Bang.
These lip glosses come in pinched tubes made of clear plastic. Each has a slanted doe-foot applicator that is hollowed out in the middle.
Stellar is an orange-toned red. Apocaliptic is a ruby-toned pink. Big Bang is a bold, classic red.
The Show Off lacquer formula is creamy and non-sticky. The pigmentation on all of these colors is opaque, rich, and intense. These do have sort of a funky smell to them, which I notice while I’m applying the product, but don’t notice once I’m wearing it.
These lacquers are pleasant to wear. They don’t have any shimmer in them, but have a high-gloss shine. They aren’t transfer-proof, so anything you eat, drink, or kiss will get it’s fair share of the color you’re wearing. But, at the same time, the pigment stays adhered to the lips for a significant amount of time. The gloss itself will withstand 2-4 hours of wear, depending on whether you’re eating or drinking during that time. And even after the gloss is gone, the pigmentation stains your lips, imparting color for most of the day.
Ease of Use: 9/10
This formula glides over the lips easily and, despite the colors being so bold, can be fairly precisely applied because of the narrow doe-foot applicators.
For around $6.00 you get 0.18 fl oz of product.
