This satin finish moisturizing lipstick offers rich, matte color in a stunning Radiant Orchid shade. Infused with Orchid essence for nourishment, and Collagen for a subtle plumping effect, the creamy formula glides on and provides comfortable, all-day wear that rivals the lasting power of a lip stain.
Sephora’s new collaboration Collection with Pantone for this year’s Color Of The Year–Radiant Orchid–will be releasing on Sephora very soon. This review is for the Rush Matte Lipstick releasing with the Radiant Orchid Collection, which is a bright magenta shade.
This lipsticks comes in a rectangular tube made of metal with a slip-off cap that has a magnetic closure. The outside of the packaging is a radiant orchid shade that shifts to white.
The Rush Matte Lipstick is a bright magenta color with strong pigmentation. If applied lightly, you can maintain a slight translucence to the finish, but this lipstick is otherwise opaque.
This lipstick has a very pleasant formula. It feels slightly balmy, and the fact that the lipstick is bold in color doesn’t translate to the lipstick being drying or heavy. Even though it’s called a “Matte” lipstick, it has a balmy finish. The color adheres tightly to the skin, so you’ll get a staining effect even after the lipstick itself has come off.
The formula isn’t entirely transfer-proof, but it doesn’t transfer as easily as your typical lipstick. The color is smooth on the lips, allowing the skin’s natural texture to show through without emphasizing lip lines.
Oh, and did I mention? The color is beautiful.
Ease of Use: 9.75/10
The formula glides over the skin more like balm than a lipstick and quickly deposits bright color. I found, despite the brightness of the color, that I could easily get a precise application straight from the tube.
Unfortunately, there’s no size information for this lipstick. But it’s certainly on the expensive side, especially for Sephora, and it looks as though you get less product than average.
