Create metal eyes that mesmerize with our Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow, a striking cream-to-powder shadow with a multidimensional metallic finish. Inspired by the runway, our one-of-a-kind formula is packed with rock-and-roll sparkle to achieve a variety of effects, from a light wash of shimmer to an opaque metallic finish. It also comes with a mini Stay All Day® Liquid Eye Primer & handy mixing tray… simply prime, combine and shine!
Stila’s Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadows are cream-to-powder eye shadows with metallic finishes. Stila’s original set of colors includes the shade Vintage Black Gold, which is a light black with a gold pearly sheen.
The eye shadow comes in a small pot with a twist off lid made of reflective silver plastic. You also get a Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer which comes in an extremely small glass bottle with an eye drop dispenser, and a metal mixing tray.
Vintage Black Gold is black at its base but has a strong golden sheen. When mixed together, this can look like a metallic green.
In the pan, this eye shadow has a bouncy formula much like MAC’s Electric Cool eye shadows. Unlike the shade in Metallic Pixie Dust, I found that this eye shadow really only spreads out on the lid if you use it mixed with the primer Stila gives you (or your own mixing medium). The shadow also transfers onto the upper part of your lid when you blink and doesn’t dry or set. It creases easily, for the same reason.
The color and metallic finish itself is stunning, but this shadow just doesn’t perform well on and after application.
The Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer you get in the kit is tiny and it contains an almost laughably small amount of product. Even after using it just a couple of times, it looks like the product is almost gone.
Ease of Use: 7/10
If you don’t mix this shade with the primer, it is flaky and doesn’t stick to the skin. But once you mix the shadow with the primer, it doesn’t set or dry, creasing and transferring around the eye area. You can try setting the shadow with a translucent powder to keep it from slipping around everywhere, but that unfortunately mutes the metallic finish the shadow has.
For $32.00 you get 0.07 ounces of eye shadow and 0.06 ounces of primer. Even MAC’s Electric Cool shadows–which contained the same amount of product–didn’t cost this much (only $18.50). There’s no doubt that this is an expensive eye shadow kit, though there is a primer included.
