Get the staying power of a stain, the intense color of a liquid lipstick and the high shine of a gloss in one long-wear formula. Using exclusive technology to keep cauldrons of molten lipsticks liquid and creamy, Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense, high-impact, super rich, saturated color that lasts for hours.
Too Faced has just released its Melted Collection, which includes 6 new Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks, which are a fusion of a stain, lipstick, and lip gloss. The following shades are reviewed and shown below:
- Melted Coral
- Melted Fuchsia
- Melted Nude
- Melted Peony
- Melted Ruby
- Melted Violet
These lipsticks come in opaque, plastic squeeze tubes and display the color of the product inside. The caps are screw-on and each tube is connected to a slanted, doe-footed applicator.
Melted Nude is a deep caramel-toned nude. Melted Peony is a medium pink. Melted Coral is a very orange-based coral. Melted Fuchsia is a bright magenta pink. Melted Ruby is a pink-toned red. Melted Violet is a bright, medium fuchsia.
All of the Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick colors are rich, opaque and leave a medium-strength glossy finish. They have an absolutely smooth, lacquer texture with zero stickiness or thick quality.
Too Faced’s claims hold true to the extent that these lip colors give you the lasting effect of a stain, the pigmentation of a lipstick, and the shine of a gloss. The staining power for these is unbelievable. The formula isn’t transfer or smudge-resistant, so you need to be careful when you’re eating/drinking/kissing. And, honestly, the lacquer itself gets a bit messy if you aren’t conscious of potential transfer/smudging. But the pigment absolutely clings to the lips and latches on. I wore Melted Ruby yesterday afternoon, and the inner part of my lips are still stained a pinky-red shade, even after having removed the product yesterday, taking a shower, and washing my face this morning.
Besides not being smudge-resistant, my only criticism of this lip product is the smell. It doesn’t have a fragrance added to it, but it does have an old-school, plastic-like, lacquer smell to it that’s a tad unpleasant, and takes a few minutes to stop noticing after application. Anyone sensitive to scents might have difficulty tolerating wearing this product.
Ease of Use: 9/10
The attached doe-footed applicator on each tube helps to smooth out the product on the lips and is decent at getting you a precise line. You might want to touch up with a lip brush for a super-polished look.
For $21.00 you get 0.40 fl oz (12 ml) of product. This is a healthy, above-average amount of product for the price.
