Shockingly shimmery versatile trio can be used as a shadow all over lid or as an eyeliner to add shimmery definition. Unique hybrid formula glides- on and blends easier than a powder for a light veil of shimmer or layered for a full-on metallic foil effect. 24 hour wear.
Physicians Formula’s new makeup line includes 2 new Extreme Shimmer Gel Cream Shadow & Liner Trios, which each includes 3 shimmering shadows. This review is for the Smoky trio.
This eye shadow trio includes a frosty off-white, a frosty silver, and a frosty black with a subtle silver and purple flash. These shadows are pretty flaky if you use more than a thin layer of the eye shadow. That’s not to say that these produce fall-out–surprisingly, they don’t. But you do need to use a thin layer of product to avoid it looking raised and bumpy. The shadows have a hybrid formula that is both airy and a bit humid.
Also, these don’t have a lot of continuous pigmentation. They’re mostly frost with soft pigmentation. They’re also not best used through the crease because of their more flakey texture.
All that said, I actually really like the smoky eye that I can create with these shadows, precisely because the pigmentation is soft. Usually, I don’t like using black or silver shadows on my eyes–I just don’t think they look nice on me. But with these shadows, I can create a soft smoky eye that I really like!
Of course, if you’re wanting something with good pigmentation and that will work easily in your crease area, these aren’t the shadows for you.
