Four new lustrous cream-like eye shadow shades offer extreme pearlescence and versatility of finish. Provides sheer-to-moderate buildable coverage and a dimensional finish. The dual-use formula can be applied dry for a sparkling more translucent look, or wet for glossy saturated colour with high shine. The smooth, non-dusty formula is easy to blend, giving extreme adherence to skin. Pressed Pigment is delicate. Please handle with care. Special packaging features the Star Trek logo in metallic silver.
MAC’s Star Trek Collection includes the launch of 4 new Pressed Pigment Eye Shadows, which MAC says have a cream-like formula that provides sheer-to-moderate buildable coverage. All of the shades are swatched, reviewed, and depicted, below:
- To Boldly Go: Reddish copper pearl with sparkle
- Midnight: Cobalt Blue with pearl sparkle
- Bird of Prey: Dark olive green pearl with sparkle
- The Naked Time: Taupe pearl with sparkle
The Pressed Pigment Eye Shadows come in large pans (much larger than MAC’s regular eye shadows).
These shades, when applied with a dry brush, are not opaque, but are much more opaque than “sheer-to-moderate.” Even though MAC says you can apply these with a damp brush for more saturated color, the formula actually becomes more translucent when applied wet. So if you want a more opaque and smooth finish, stick to a dry application.
These all have a metallic and shimmering finish, and blend decently. But there’s nothing special about these shadows. I much prefer the finish of a loose pigment, so the only thing I can see these having over a normal pigment is the convenience of them being pressed.
