Launch into orbit with this powder that transforms skin upon contact. Available in Luna Luster, Strange New Worlds or Highly Illogical. With swirls of complementing colours and luminous pearls, it provides sheer luminosity, is creamy to the touch, blends effortlessly. Special packaging features the Star Trek logo in metallic silver.
MAC’s Star Trek Collection includes the launch of 3 Trip The Light Fantastic Powders, which MAC says give the skin a sheer luminosity. All of the shades are swatched, reviewed, and depicted, below:
- Luna Luster: Sheer wash of soft rose shimmer
- Strange New Worlds: Sheer wash of golden coral pearl
- Highly Illogical: Sheer wash of golden plum with fine pearl
The Trip The Light Fantastic Powders come in flat pans and feel powdery to the touch.
Although these swatched poorly with a brush during my initial swatches (see the video here), they applied very differently once I tested these on the face. They go on with distinct, fairly strong color (which you can, of course, sheer out with a lighter application or fan brush).
Luna Luster is a silver with a whisper of pink. It has some larger silver shimmer in it, which keeps it from being completely refined on the skin. Strange New Worlds is a shimmery copper and Highly Illogical is a soft bronze. Both Strange New Worlds and Highly Illogical leave a metallic finish and the shimmer in them is refined.
I don’t find that the formula is creamy, the way MAC describes, but the powder applies smoothly and blends nicely.
